Thomas J. (T.J.) Iak
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
T.J. Iak is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Red Gate, an organizational and business transformation systems integration firm that provides advanced analytical services, organizational transformation, solutions integration and technical services to U.S. federal government defense and intelligence agencies. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of strategy, business administration and innovation across the company.
A military veteran and corporate executive, Iak has over 20 years of experience in the application of organizational and business transformation techniques, technical capabilities and business practices to support critical government programs. He is also an experienced manager of multi-million-dollar enterprise operations in leading functions, including planning, tasking, organizational development, information management and coordination.
Prior to joining Red Gate, Iak served as program integrator at In-Q-Tel where he evaluated and integrated with new start-up technology firms on behalf of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
As a contractor assigned to the United States Army, he served as senior operational and technical advisor to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), now reorganized under the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Iak also served as senior project officer for the Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army's Rapid Equipping Force (REF) where he managed over $25 million in emerging technology projects and specialized systems.
Prior to his enterprise technology career, Iak served as a combat engineer officer at the United States Army Engineer Corps for five years.
Throughout his career, he received a special achievement award for his contributions as one of the first project officers to the Rapid Equipping Force organization saving soldiers’ lives and enabling better and more cost-effective solutions to the battlefield. He was also recognized for his contributions in providing offensive operations to defeat improvised explosive devices (IEDs) as weapons of influence, and for providing critical and timely operational support that helped timely-fused intelligence products to the warfighter.
Iak is a member of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA), the West Point Society of DC and Vistage where he convenes with other C-level executives to bring innovative approaches to business environments. As part of his efforts to give back to the community, he participated in offering disaster relief during the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Iak holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics with a major in mathematics and a minor in computer science from the United States Military Academy.

Kevin Lutz
Chief Operating Officer
In his role as Chief Operations Officer for Red Gate, Kevin Lutz, provides operational leadership and strategic vision for corporate operations and program management. Lutz brings more than 38 years of military and corporate leadership experience with success in building and leading organizations, strategy development and execution, and extensive experience working in national security.
Prior to joining Red Gate, Lutz was a Group President with A-T Solutions, a private equity held leader in counterterrorism, counter weapons of mass destruction, and intelligence services. During his time at A-T Solutions, he built and managed a 150+ million dollar portfolio leading to its’ acquisition by Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE). He is a highly respected and a well-known expert in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) operations, weapons’ technical intelligence (WTI) and, combating weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Lutz retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel, and holds a Master of Science degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the United States Marine Corps University, Quantico, Virginia, and a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida. He is a 2015 inductee into the U.S. Army Ordnance Hall of Fame.
