Mr. Lutz is a recognized expert in explosive ordnance disposal, counter-IED and insurgency operations, combating weapons of mass destruction, and weapons technical intelligence. He was inducted into the U.S. Army Ordnance Hall of Fame in 2015 and brings over 35 years of military and corporate leadership.

Career highlights

• Commanded at brigade and battalion levels across three combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq
• Established and twice commanded Combined Joint Task Force Troy (Counter-IED Brigade) under Multi-National Corps Iraq
• Helped create the Army IED Task Force — the foundation of the Joint IED Defeat Organization
• Helped form the Weapons Analytic Team of the Joint Intelligence Task Force for Combating Terrorism at the DIA

Before Red Gate, Mr. Lutz was president of A-T Solutions' Defense Group, where he grew the business from a $30 million client base to $130+ million in four years, ultimately facilitating the company's acquisition.

Mr. Lutz holds a B.S. in police administration and pre-law (Michigan State University), an M.S. in logistics management (Florida Institute of Technology), and an M.S. in defense and strategic studies (U.S. Marine Corps University).
