Rob Cordray has joined Red Gate as the company’s Chief Growth Officer. Mr. Cordray, an Army veteran and corporate executive, is uniquely suited to join the Red Gate team, bringing more than two decades of experience in business development, operations management, and strategic planning to this role. His experience comprises working with a number of defense and intelligence agencies, interagency partners, and special operations clients.

Previously, Mr. Cordray served as a Division Vice President and U.S. Army Account Executive at General Dynamics Information Technology, and as the director of capture and proposals at Celestar Corporation. Prior to that, he served in a number of increasingly-responsible positions at JBM, serving in Army communities across the country.
Mr. Cordray is a 1997 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a field artillery officer, training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and eventually deploying to Kosovo. He then served at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia as a contract senior operations analyst for the Army’s 1st Information Operations Command, where he worked on tactical, operational and strategic operations. Mr. Cordray’s second deployment was to Iraq to work with conventional and special operations forces across that country.

Red Gate will be holding its second annual Red Gate Group Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training opportunity over two weekends in October 2018. Employees new to LSS will earn their Green Belt upon the successful completion of the program, and those who participated in last year’s training can earn credits toward their LSS Black Belt certification requirements. There is no charge for employees to participate.

Iak, president of Red Gate, says “Training our employees in Lean Six Sigma benefits the company from an organizational and process standpoint, but more than that, it gives our staff an opportunity to continue to grow. They work on real company problems while in training, so the training also fosters collaboration and connection across teams who may not otherwise work together.”
Red Gate’s resident instructor, Tom Heard, is an expert in organizational process management and a certified LSS trainer. He has taught multiple Lean Six Sigma courses and has graciously offered to help Red Gate continue this in-house training and certification program.

Josh Carroll joins Red Gate in support of Defense Security Service in Quantico, VA. Carroll served in the U.S. Army as a senior medic and then as a counterintelligence agent both stateside and in Kuwait/Iraq, and continues to serve in the Army Reserves. He has worked as a contractor for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the CI Analytical Division, and in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Strategic Intelligence.
Carroll holds a bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies with a focus in CI from American Military University, and has extensive specialized training and computer skills.
Mike Stabile is joining Red Gate at the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) on the Mission Information Technology contract as a Full Stack Developer. Stabile is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and a highly skilled and versatile leader with experience in myriad areas. He served in the Naval Reserve Unit as an operations officer, executive officer and now as the commander.
Stabile also holds an M.S. in computer information systems and a D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree.

On April 18, 2018, interns from the Veteran Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA), located in Frederick, MD, participated in an industry offsite event with the Red Gate Group located in Chantilly, VA. The group was composed of 27 interns, future 1102 Contract Specialists, who will graduate from VAAA’s 2018 Acquisition Intern Program (AIP) in May 2018.
TJ Iak, President of Red Gate Group, provided an organizational overview of Red Gate Group and led discussions on how the company navigates the proposal and contracting process, and on the selection of teaming partners. The interns were also given an opportunity to participate in a group discussion and Q&A session.
The purpose of the industry offsite is to provide the interns a vendor perspective on the contracting process from announcement – solicitation, to contract award. During their training in the two- year program, interns participate in yearly industry offsite events to provide them with an opportunity to visit with industry to develop an understanding of the customer perspective of contracting.
